Statement of Faith

BLESSING HEARTS MINISTRIES

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

We believe in one God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 3:16-17, 1 Cor. 12:4-6, 2 Cor. 13:14).

We believe that God is Creator of all people and of all things (Gen. 1:1, Acts 17:24-28).

We believe in Jesus Christ, who is God’s only Son (John 3:16), that He came to earth and died a physical death for our sins (Mark 15:37-39), that He rose physically from the grave on the third day (Luke 24:1-7), and that He is the only Savior of the world (John 14:6).

We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, that He ascended to heaven, and He WILL come again for His bride the Church (Matt. 28:5-7, Acts 1:9-11).

We believe that the Holy Spirit lives within every Christian and acts as a guide and comforter to assist us in living a faithful life as followers of Jesus (John 16:5-15, 1 Cor. 6:19-20).

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God – relevant, reliable, and inerrant. It cannot be added to or taken away from by man (Romans 15:4, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12).

We believe that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Man is lost and without hope apart from our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12, Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:7).

We believe that those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, be baptized into Christ by immersion and live a life faithful to God. Life for the follower of Jesus should then be consumed with growing in and sharing that saving knowledge of Christ with those who are still lost (Romans 10:9, Acts 2:38, Matt. 28:19-20).

We believe that the Church is the body and bride of Christ, founded on the day of Pentecost, consisting of all Christians everywhere. We believe that it exists to evangelize the lost and edify the saved (Colossians 1:15-18, Rev. 19:7, Acts 2:14-47, Mark 16:15-16).

We believe in the power of God to multiply the efforts of His disciples beyond our wildest dreams (Ephesians 3:20-21).

We believe that persecution accompanies a godly life lived in the name of Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 3:12).

We believe that it is the responsibility of every Christian to grow in their relationship with Jesus (2 Peter 3:17-18) and to play their role in preaching the good news to those who have yet to hear it (Romans 10:13-15, Colossians2:7), caring for widows and orphans (James 1:27), supporting the persecuted (Hebrews 13:3), aiding the weak (1 Thes. 5:14), and encouraging one another (1 Thes. 5:11).
